Classes will be held on the 2nd floor of the forum in the Lets Play Room. A limited amount of mats are available. Please arrive early as the outside doors will be locked 5 minutes before the class starts. Please check back on this page for schedule changes in the event of forum closure.
“For someone to develop genuine compassion towards others, first he or she must have a basis upon which to cultivate compassion, and that basis is the ability to
connect to one’s own feelings and to care for one’s own welfare. Caring for others requires caring for oneself.’ (Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama). Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, forgive ourselves, motivate ourselves with kindness, care for others, and be fully human. Self-compassion is related to emotional wellbeing, lowered anxiety and depression, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships.
Looking forward to practicing in community again to strengthen our self-compassion to build and cultivate compassionate communities.
As we practice together in community, we can begin to think about being catalysts for small acts of kindness and caring so that we may, as a community, share lasting tools for empowerment and transformation. And together, we can truly be the change we wish to see in relationships, our families, our organizations, our communities, and our world.

Take a moment to inhale deeply and as you exhale soften your jaw, drop your shoulders away from the ears, and soften the belly

Continue this rhythmic breathing for 2 minutes. I amso looking forward to seeing you and practicing together again.
We can spend so much of our days not feeling good, feeling tired, overwhelmed, and frustrated and blaming everybody in our path. If you can become aware that the only reason you don’t feel good is because you became something that is not in alignment with who you are you can shift your focus. Sometimes it is so difficult to gauge if you are letting yourself be who you really are but you know you are definitely not resonating with you if you are feeling disappointment, resentment, or embarrassment, or depression and disempowerment, or anger, frustration, and discouragement. We often fixate on what you don’t like, what you resent, what you find fault with, what you don’t respect and this fixation creates a chronic vibration that causes disconnection and perpetuates blame and victimization. Imagine many people in the same organization and community resonating these negative feeling and attracting more of the same. Bosses will not change, challenging colleagues will not change, unsupportive work environments will not change. What will change is how you choose to see what is around you. Your insane and often unhuman workload can defintely not define your worthiness. Your colleagues cannot define your authentic self- expression. Your self- worth must come from that deep wisdom inside of you.
If you start to mindfully shift your focus to appreciation, gratitude, and joy and others start to make the same shift because of your example, this is how we take responsibility for our work environments and community connection. Give your undivided attention to your spirit. Can you Live in Thankfulness and Gratitude instead of fear and anxiety and self doubt? Can you wake up each morning with appreciation and sleep with gratitude and move through your days with grace? You know you are on the right track when you feel passion, eagerness, and joy. When you resonate with your true nature, you feel enlivened, you feel alive, you feel vital, you feel joy, you feel appreciation. You love your life. You love those you are looking at. You see your world through the eyes of the wisest part of you.
Let us all commit to moving through our day with the wisest part of us and share how this impacts our worth, our health, our relationships, and our community.

The DVD links offer energizing yoga practice customized for the realities of Nunavik. You will find 2 different options for the same physical sequence that will help build strength, flexibility, and relieve tension. It is hoped that Nunavimmiut of all ages will enjoy and find new strength, relaxation, connection, and comfort in doing this practice. The hope, particularly for youth, is that regular practice will contribute to finding peace and trust within oneself, to find tools for self-contentment and self-acceptance, to highlight the uniqueness and special gifts each person has and harness those gifts for the betterment of the families and communities that youth are a part of
The Instructional Track (32 minutes) focuses on important alignment and physical benefits of the postures. If you are not familiar with yoga, I suggest you practice to this track to become familiar, safe, and comfortable before progressing to the Journey Track. The Journey track (41 minutes) offers you a unique exploration through your inner and outer landscape. It offers a time to come home to yourself which is the heart of living and of the practice of mindfulness.

This DVD offering was a labour of love and was the result of the talents, passion, and generosity of a great team: Grace Jull wrote, directed, and narrated the scripts for both sequences. The wonderful Pauline Decroix was the very talented editor on this project.
